For this new Roadie Series MU 3 RS 19″3 U rack (540 MM deep) we used 15MM Birchwood and the same hard spray paint finish as used by many professional loudspeaker manufacturers..
The rear has a cutout and cover and recessed rack rail, so that connectors can stay plugged in and cables can be guided from 1 rack to the other..
and all keeps looking tidy..
