Allen & Heath XONE:K2

Allen&Heath hat den Xone:K2 vorgestellt – eine Kombination aus MIDI-Controller und Audiointerface mit einer internen 4-kanaligen Soundkarte. Der K2 ist mit einer konfigurierbaren MIDI-Oberfläche samt dreifarbiger LED-Beleuchtung, einer USB-Stromversorgung und firmeneigener Schnittstelle X:LINK für das perfekte Zusammenspiel mit anderen Geräten der Xone-Serie ausgestattet.

Für die nahtlose Kommunikation mit alle MIDI-fähigen DAW-Anwendungen entwickelt, kann der K2 als Controller für die gängigen DJ-Softwareanwendungen wie z. B. Ableton, Traktor Pro und Serato Scratch Live eingesetzt werden. 52 physische Controller stehen dem User dabei zur Verfügung – im Paket befinden sich 12 analoge und 6 Endlosdrehregler mit Drucktastenfunktion, 4 lineare Fader und 30 hintergrundbeleuchtete Taster. Insgesamt bietet der K2 damit bis zu 171 verschiedene MIDI-Controllerbefehle über drei Layer verteilt. Das MIDI-Interface des K2 kann vom User komplett frei konfiguriert werden.

Der K2 besitzt eine hochwertige, interne 4-Kanal Soundkarte, die mit 44,1 und 48kHz betrieben werden kann. Sind alle vier Kanäle vom Rechner zum K2 adressiert und werden zwei Stereokanäle geschickt, kann man einen Stereokanal für den Kopfhörerweg nutzen und den anderen für die Masterausgänge L und R. Auf diese Weise erstellt man den Kopfhörermix unabhängig vom Masterausgang. Darüber hinaus verfügt die Soundkarte über eine eigene 3,5 mm Kopfhörerbuchse und einen Master-Out, als Chinch-Buchse ausgeführt.

Zwei K2 Controller können über das firmeneigene X:LINK-Protokoll von Allen&Heath verbunden werden, um den Controllerumfang zu verdoppeln. X:LINK nutzt dabei eine Standard RJ45 Steckverbindung und liefert darüber sowohl die Stromversorgung, als auch die Datenübertragung. Auf diese Weise können zwei K2 Controller über einen einzigen USB-Port mit der DAW verbunden werden.

Das Gehäuse des Xone:K2 ist aus einer robusten Kunststoffbodenplatte und einer Stahloberseite gefertigt, an der die Drehregler mit Stahlmuttern verschraubt sind. Dies gewährleistet sowohl ein geringes Gesamtgewicht, als auch eine hohe Strapazierfähigkeit des Gerätes. Der K2 wird in einem formschönen und robusten Transportcase ausgeliefert, das in seiner Doppelfunktion einerseits als Auflagefläche dient und andererseits den Komfort für den tourenden DJ deutlich erhöht.

Xone:K2 comes packed in a robust black padded case as standard. The case doubles as a stand, bringing the K2 up to the same height as most pro DJ mixers.

​Universal
Xone:K2 is a universal controller and is perfect for use with all leading DJ software, such as Traktor Pro, Ableton, Virtual DJ, PCDJ and M ixVibes. Xone:K2 can even be used to control lights or VJ software – if it can receive MIDI data it can take commands from K2.

MIDI Control
Xone:K2 has 52 physical controls – including 12 analogue and 6 endless rotary encoders with push switch, 4 linear faders, and 30 backlit performance switches - providing up to 171 MIDI control commands across 3 layers. What each control does is entirely up to you - with a little thought you can create a completely customised layout that perfectly fits the way you want to work. We also provide some sample maps and information on how to set up your own.

Latching Layers
By assigning controls to multiple layers you can give a single physical control up to 3 functions. You can configure all, some or none of K2’s controls to be linked to the latching layers system. As a quick visual reminder, when toggling through layers all switches assigned to a particular layer will illuminate in the appropriate colour.

Audio Interface
Xone:K2 has a high quality internal, four channel (2 stereo) soundcard.

X:LINK
Two K2s can be linked via Allen & Heath’s X:LINK protocol, giving twice as much control capability. X:LINK uses a standard RJ45 connector and distributes power and data, which means two K2s can be connected to your software using only one USB port. X:LINK also allows connection to Xone:DB4 and Xone:DB2 mixers.
